It's an exciting time to be into music - we've got heaps of new releases coming up in this edition! Check out albums from Sugar Army, deadmau5, Flying Lotus, Grinspoon and a whole lot more.

COERCE

Coerce

Now completely based in Melbourne, Coerce have got a 4 track release in the works titled Genome. Released on 10” vinyl and digitally, and produced by guitarist and lead vocalist, Mike Deslandes, Genome will be out on Capitalgames Records in October, with a national tour planned in support of it for late 2012.

JAPE

Jape will be releasing their acclaimed, genre-defying album Ocean Of Frequency in Australia on the 28th of September, 2012, on HUB The Label through Inertia. The release is just ahead of their soon-to-be-announced first visit to Australia. Ocean Of Frequency won ‘Album Of The Year’ in the Choice Music Prize earlier this year.

Frankenweenie

Karen O has written an original song, titled “Strange Love”, for the end credits of Disney’s upcoming film Frankenweenie (directed by Tim Burton). The track will be included on the Frankenweenie Unleashed! compilation, which will be released on October 5, 2012 through Universal Music. Other artists featuring on the compilation include Passion Pit, Mark Foster, Grouplove, and Robert Smith.

Sugar Army - Summertime Heavy

After adjusting to the loss of a band member and developing a new dynamic together, Sugar Army have announced their second album and latest body of work: Summertime Heavy. This next album promises to have a stronger groove, bolder lyrics, and to be completely focused. Summertime Heavy is out on September 7, 2012, on Permanent Records/Shock.

360

360 has had a massive year, and after 44 weeks in the top 50 ARIA charts, is now planning the release of Falling & Flying Platinum Edition. The Platinum Edition will feature a brand new track - “Please Forgive Me” - alongside 4 new live recordings. It’s out on August 24, 2012, on Soulmate/EMI Records.

DEADMAU5

After upgrading his studio and touring Europe, electronic artist deadmau5 set to work finishing his sixth studio album. Titled > album title goes here <, it features collaborations with Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance), Cypress Hill, and Imogen Heap. It’ll be released on September 21, 2012, through Mau5trap/Parlophone Records.

The 10th Anniversary of Long Way To The Top is celebrating Australia’s early rock ‘n’ roll history with a live concert, three disc CD/DVD. Featuring artists such as Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs, Little Pattie, Lucky Starr, and Col Joye, it’s out now on Universal Music Australia.

JEFF The Brotherhood

JEFF The Brotherhood write the kind of rock ‘n’ roll that gets under your skin, and they’re just about to release their anticipated seventh studio album - Hypnotic Nights. Recorded at Dan Auerbach’s (half of The Black Keys) studio in Nashville, it’s out on Warner Bros. Records on August 24, 2012.

FRANK TURNER

English folk singer-songwriter Frank Turner is still a relatively new artist to Australia, which makes Last Minutes and Lost Evenings a particularly great release for us here. Frank has hand-picked 15 songs to act as an introduction to his music, mixing popular hits and rarities, and thrown in a full DVD of his sold-out show at Wembley Arena as well! It’s a record for both long-time fans, and those just getting started. It’s out on October 5, 2012 through Xtra Mile and Epitaph.

Jaytech - Multiverse

Electronic artist Jaytech’s second album, Multiverse, broadens his music, whilst keeping the refined production that he’s well known for. Considering he’s been producing since the age of 14, he’s one to keep an eye on. Multiverse is out now on Onelove Recordings.

MIA DYSON

Mia Dyson is back from the US, and gearing up for a national tour of Australia and the release of her fourth album - The Moment. With previous releases taking home ARIA Awards, she’s quickly becoming one of Australia’s most exciting song-writers. The Moment is out on August 17, 2012, on Black Door Records.

FLYING LOTUS

FlyLo

Experimental producer Flying Lotus is set to release his long-awaited fourth studio album this coming September. Featuring guests such as Thom Yorke, Erykah Badu, and Niki Randa, FlyLo composed it as “a collage of mystical states, dreams, sleep and lullabies”. Until The Quiet Comes is out on September 28, 2012, on Warp through Inertia.

DOWN

Metal band DOWN are set to release their first body of new music in five years this coming September. It will be in the form of a six song EP - the first in a series of four EP’s that are planned to be released over the next year. Down IV Part I - The Purple EP is out on September 14, 2012, on Roadrunner Records.

THE ANGELS

With brand new singer Dave Gleeson (of The Screaming Jets), The Angels are getting ready to release their brand new album. Take It To The Streets will be initially released as a limited 2CD edition, with a bonus live disc featuring 14 songs, both old and new, with Gleeson on lead vocals. The Angels are touring late 2012. Take It To The Streets is out on August 31, 2012, through Liberation.

Kreayshawn - Somethin''Bout Kreay

Kreayshawn is set to release her debut album Somethin’ ‘Bout Kreay this September. With the first single, “Go Hard”, reaching over a million views in 5 days, Kreayshawn’s bubbly hip-hop will be worth keeping an ear open for. It’s out September 14, 2012, through Sony Music.

Grinspoon - Black Rabbits

Aussie rockers Grinspoon have just released a trailer for their upcoming album Black Rabbits. You can also buy their new single “Passerby” on iTunes right now. Black Rabbits is out on September 28, 2012, through Universal Music.
